Congratulations to the Ford Rally Racing team for having a very successful X-Games 17 event. With much on the line, the Ford Fiesta shined as it proved to exceed the competitors on the track. With professional race drivers like Brian Deegan, Tanner Foust, Ken Block, and Marcus Gronholm, the drivers were able to take home 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd place on the Rally Cross event on Sunday, July 31^st. 

The RacllyCross event was a gruesome eight races. The first place winner of the first seven races went on to compete for the gold. 4 Ford Fietas made it to the final race, with intense competitors like the Subaru's WRX Sti (Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra) and a Citroen C4 (Liam Doran). In the final laps the Travis Pastrana currently in 3^rd place lost control and crashed against the wall, leaving room for the 3 Ford Fiestas to take gold(Brian Deegan), silver (Tanner Foust) and bronze (Marcus Gronholm).

Starting next year, Ford Motor Co. will become the only automaker offering four vehicle models that goes over 40 miles per gallon in North America. Ford expects to reach this by including the Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus, Ford Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Ford plans to introduce Auto Start-Stop technology to help increase the fuel economy for these vehicles. This technology will allow the engine to shut down while the vehicle is idling, keeping all accessories on that will increase fuel economy by four percent. By 2015 Ford plans to make this technology available for most of their vehicles.
